
Holi Special Thandai Recipe

Traditional Holi special Thandai made with chilled milk, nuts, seeds, saffron, and aromatic spices. This refreshing North Indian festive drink is rich, cooling, and perfect for celebrations.
Ingredients
- 1 liter Full Fat Milk
- 15 pieces Almonds
- 10 pieces cashew nuts
- 10 pieces Pistachios
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds
- 6 corns Black pepper
- 12 strands saffron kg
- 4 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 teaspoon rose essence
- 3 Green Cardamon

Soak 15 almonds, 10 cashews, 10 pistachios, and 1 tablespoon poppy seeds in warm water for 2 hours. Drain and peel the almonds.

In a blender, add soaked nuts, 1 teaspoon fennel seeds, seeds of 4 green cardamom pods, and 6 black pepper corns. Add 2–3 tablespoons milk and grind into a smooth thick paste.

Boil 1 liter full cream milk for 5 minutes, then allow it to cool completely and chill in the refrigerator.

Add the prepared nut paste, 4 tablespoons sugar, soaked saffron strands with milk, and 1 teaspoon rose water into the chilled milk. Stir thoroughly until fully combined.

Strain the thandai using a fine sieve for a smooth texture. Pour into glasses, garnish with a few chopped pistachios and saffron strands, and serve chilled. Your Thandai is ready. Enjoy!
