For this recipe we will need 1 cup of sugar, 3/4 cup of water and 1 tbsp of ghee (clarified butter)
Take 1 cup sugar in pan
Add 3/4 cup water to it.
Start cooking the two together on high flame.
Keep stirring the mixture continuously.
As the mixture is cooking, it will start becoming white. Keep cooking it.
At this stage, add 1 tbsp ghee to the mixture.
Mix the ghee well into the mixture.
The ghee will get mixed and the recipe will keep getting thicker and whiter.
Stop cooking the mixture. Let it cool down and keep stirring it while it is cooling down.
As the mixture cools down, its color will change again and it will start becoming translucent and thicker
Keep stirring the mixture while turns to a thick paste
Break down any small or big lump being formed in the mixture. It is easy to break the lumps since they are very soft since we had added ghee while preparing it.
The mixture will it turns into a fine powder.
Sieve the mixture to remove any remaining lumps. You can also use the blender for this purpose.
Your Tagar is ready. You can store it in a container and use it in any dessert you prepare. It adds a better taste than adding sugar. Enjoy!!!
