Pav Bhaji is a very famous dish in India especially in the city of Mumbai. It is made by mixing various vegetables like onion, tomatoes, capsicum etc.Over the years people have come up with their own versions to modify this dish according to their taste buds.  Our version is a bit different from the classic version where we fry the vegetables first before actually boiling them. We believe this brings out the flavours better than the traditional way. Do give it a try and let us what do you think.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter (or ghee)
  • 0.5 rosemary
  • 0.5 cup Green peas
  • 2 green bell pepper
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 3 tbsp pav bhaji masala
  • 1/4 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 3 Raw potatoes
  • 3 Tomato
  • 0.5 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp coriander powder

Instructions

    Take 2 tsp oil in a pressure cooker.

    After the oil turns hot, add 3 potatoes to it and fry it for a couple minutes

    Add cauliflower to the mixture and fry everything together

    Add 1 carrot, 1/2 cup peas, 1 chopped tomato to the mixture

    Add 1 tsp salt to the mixture. Add 1 tsp kashmiri powder. Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder to it and mix even thing together A Add 1/4 garam masala and salt to taste. Add 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves Add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp kashmiri mirch (chili) powder

    Mix everything together and cook for couple of minutes.

    Add 2 cups of water to the mixture and mix everything together.

    Close the pressure cooker and cook till the time you get 3 whistles.

    Let the pressure cooker cool down. After that , open the pressure cooker and mash the vegetable with a potato masher.

    Mash everything together till you get a good consistency and individual vegetables are not visible.

    Take 1 tsp oil in pan. Add 2 tbsp butter to it.

    After the butter melts, add 2 finely chopped onions to it.

    Add 2 chopped bell pepper to the mixture and mix everything well together

    After the mixture is cooked , add 2 medium size tomatoes to it and 1 tsp salt to it

    Mix everything well together and cook. You might mash the vegetable with a potato masher.

    Add 1 tsp Kashmir powder, 3 tbsp pav bhaji masala to the mixture

    Add 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp fenugreek leaves to the mixture mix everything together.

    Add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste to the mixture.

    Add the mashed vegetable to the mixture and start cooking everything.

    Add water to the mixture for consistency purpose.

    Add 1/4 tsp garam masala powder to the bhaji.

    Add 1/2 lemon juice to the bhaji.
