
Dahi Bhalla

Dahi Bhalla is a popular North Indian chaat made with soft lentil dumplings (bhallas) soaked in water and served with chilled curd, sweet tamarind chutney, green chutney, and chaat masala. It is refreshing, tangy, and perfect for festivals, parties, and summer snacks.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Urad Dal
- 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
- 2 cups curd
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 3 tbsp tamarind chutney
- 2 tbsp green chutney
- 1 tsp roasted cumin powder teaspoon
- 1 tsp chaat masala
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds - 1
- 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves (chopped)
Instructions

Wash and soak urad dal for 4 to 5 hours. Drain the water completely.

Grind the soaked dal into a smooth thick batter using very little water.

Whisk the batter for 3 to 5 minutes until light and fluffy. Add salt and a little cumin powder.

Heat oil on medium flame. Drop small portions of batter and fry bhallas until golden and cooked inside.

Soak the fried bhallas in warm water for 15 minutes.

Then gently squeeze out excess water.

Beat chilled curd with a little salt and sugar until smooth.

Place bhallas on a serving plate and pour curd generously over them.

Top with tamarind chutney, green chutney, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, and red chilli powder.

Garnish with pomegranate seeds and fresh coriander. Serve chilled.
