Gajar ka halwa is a traditional Indian dessert made with milk and carrots. This indian sweet dish is served at almost every Indian festival. It is loved by one and all and easy to make as well. Gajar is the Hindi word for carrot and halwa means dessert.One very special thing about this recipe is it is made with Jaggery or Gud. Ingredients
- 0.25 cup ghee/oil
- 0.5 cup Almonds
- 10 pod Fennel Seeds
- 0.5 kg red carrots
- 10 Raisins
- 1500 ml milk powder
- 500 gm Misri (Jaggery/Sugar)
Instructions

Take 1/2 kg carrot in a bowl

Grate it.

Take 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter) in a hot pan.

Add the grated carrot in it.

Mix both of them together and let it cook.

Add 1 liter full fat milk in the mixture

Cook it on the reduced flame. Then add another 1/2 liter milk and cover it.

Let it cook until 90% water content evaporates.

Add 1/2 cup jaggery to the mixture.

Add some almonds and raisins for garnishing. Add two cardamoms.

Cook till the ghee (clarified butter) separates.

Serve hot.
