Besan mawa halwa | How to make Mawa Halwa

  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 3/4 tsp ghee/oil
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 tsp Almonds
  • 1 tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 1 cup Mawa (Khoya)

Instructions

    Roast besan with ghee until golden brown in colour.

    In another pan, roast mawa till pink in colour. Mix besan and mawa together and keep aside.

    In a pan, prepare sugar syrup (1strand) combining sugar and water together.

  4. 4

    Add the dry ingredients (mawa and besan) to the sugar syrup, cook on low flame and add the flavourings.

    If making barfi, then prepare a thick sugar syrup (2 strand), add mawa and besan mix to the sugar syrup and set the mixture on a greased plate.
